Liam Cunningham is a great actor. I rate him with the one I admired when I was younger, Spencer Tracy. I haven't seen him in too many shows but the ones I have I really enjoyed watching him.

I hope that you are doing a play soon so that I can come and see it and meet you afterwards and maybe have dinner. I would love to have a picture taken with you too. Dominique-Marie Saubestre - Canada but originally from France
Good Day,
This is the first time that I write. I am most interested in knowing better the Irish and the Scotish cultures. They have some similarities. I do not necessarily comprehend the languages (traditionnal celtics languages, I mean) but Lord the accents are beautiful.
We should be playing more movies from Ireland and Scotland in Canada ! Although I am proud to be French and enjoy a good French movie as we have very few of them. I need a breath of fresh air from Europe. Canadians have much to learn yet !!!
We have a lot to learn from one culture to another. With sufficient efforts, the world would be more beautiful.
I want to congratulate Mr. Cunningham. He plays his role very well. Obviously his spouse knew better since she helped him to choose a new career... It is the first time that I have heard of him in the serie Falling for a Dancer, serie played actually in Canada.
Thank you for the good time. Au revoir et merci.

Hi
Just discovered this site and Liam Cunningham. Just finished watching 'Shooting the Past' on our ABC station here. He has great presence on the screen and I would love to see him in other things, particularly like the sound of 'Falling for a dancer' but don't know if I can get it here in OZ. Does anyone out there know? Look forward to hearing from you.

It is an incredible movie but without Liam Cunningham it would not have been the movie it is...those sultry looks especially when he is at the dance dressed in the suit...and the way he has with a cigarette! Good Golly Miss Molly what a hunk of a man.
Thanks for this wonderful site - I am an American but love the Irish and British films - get them over her on BBC American but not as much as I would like.

I just recently saw "Falling for a Dancer" and was mesmerized by Liam's performance. (As I was in 1997 with Kevin Spacey) And from doing a search I found a fantastic website then which was a labor of love. I met the webmaster who was Italian and we formed a friendship.
I must tell you that I consider your efforts commendable. Your write-ups are very detailed and well thought over, as well as your research. Please accept my kudos.
I will be looking for the films/tv shows you posted. Thank you for your efforts. I hope we could meet one day.
My Kevin Spacey friend(s) and I shared attended KS's "The Iceman Cometh" play in NY. Are there any Liam event's that you know of? Please keep me in the loop.

I notices Liam for the first time in Attila. Rest of all women in family was enchanted by Attila, but I was quit bored as all movie seemd to me like dull version which has some funny historical mistakes and Attila didn't echanted me at all, but .. but ... there was some man, who from the first moment targeted my attention, even he wasn't on screen for very long time. Theodorik was only person I would believe that he is true leader to his men. Just second thay there was "Stranded" on TV and I thought: "Hang on! I know him from somewhere!" So I started to search on internet and I was suprised. I must admit, that I am hooked :-) May be I should take a lesson of irish dance :-)

I think this actor is very talented but am inclined to disagree that he is "so" good looking. In my opionion, he isn't really someone you would notice walking down the street, if he wasn't in movies and stuff. Just shows that for a man to be considered sexy and attractive and a heart throb by women is very easy. He doesn't actually have to be attractive, he just has to be a man. It is so much tougher for women. They have to be perfect and are put under endless scrutiny about weight, skin condition, hair, make up and what they wear. A highly unjust discrepancy.
But full marks to Liam for making so many women so very happy. And keep up the good work

When I first saw First Knight at the cinema I loved the film, but thought Richard Gere as Lancelot was appalling. Any director who could cast him in that role had to be crap. However, it was recently on TV over here again and I was left with a changed mind after paying attention to some of the other performances, namely a certain Irish actor I now know is Liam Cunningham. I would like to see some of his other work, but haven't had time to track down any over here yet. Dog Soldiers was on here for about 2 weeks in the cinema but I'm afraid not even Mr Cunningham would entice me to sit through a horror movie! So, anyway just thought I'd say hi from the other side of the planet and keep up the good work with the site. Some of your visitors seem to get somewhat carried away with Mr Cunningham's supposed good looks! As a person who works on the other side of the camera I can tell you that make-up and lighting can do wonders. No offence to Liam, as I imagine he is a very nice person, but keep things in perspective - he probably still leaves the toilet seat up as much as the next guy.....

I have been a fan for a few years, but his films are not shown much here. Of course, I have seen the Little Princess and First Knight which caught my eye. My father is from Northern Ireland so the Irish brogue caught my ear. I am most impressed by his gentleness, and facial expressions that speaks volumes. His speaking voice carries a beautiful lilt much better then the other so called more popular Irish actors in America like "Colin Ferrell". There's alot of us who are bit sick of seeing and hearing so much about his movies, his dates, etc!!!. I did rent Stranded which I found very good and did see Dog Soldiers which was good ( I am a physician and surgeon, so this gore is nothing to what I see). He was so good in Jude, but the moive is so hopeless, that I just can't watch it again. I just found your site and will now try to rent/buy Falling for a Dancer. Since I am at the Hospital so many hours a day I just have basis cable, as no time to watch TV. However, it seems I need to look into BBC America and some of the Romantic movie channels to catch more of his movies to tape. Thanks for your site to keep me posted of his upcoming movies and when playing I wish he would consider the USA a bit more as there are some transplanted Irish/part Irish who like to see more of him. I go to Ireland/Northern Ireland every couple years for vacation and work in a clinic. However, I am never lucky enough to catch any of his movies or TV appearances!!

I found your website while doing a search on the actor Liam Cunningham. I'm a Jason Isaacs fan (I'm sure you know what's coming up, based on the entries in the guestbook--lol)...this morning my daughters made me watch The Little Princess with them, and my older daughter (age 9) said, "It has your favorite actor in it: Jason Isaacs!" I said, "Really? I never heard that he was in a film with that name". I watched it and was BLOWN AWAY to see the resemblance! I did a search and found that Liam's birthday (2 June) is a mere 4 days before Jason Isaacs (6 June). This is so weird!
he is a great actor from what I can see so far, and although he looks like Jason Isaacs a lot, he is actually better looking in my opinion (at least in The Little Princess.)

HI ((((Tami)))) Liam fans.
Woe! This is so nice to see. I remember this site and just plain ol' the internet being completely bare on Liam Cunningham information. So be appreciative of the webmasters that have searched high and low for the interviews and biographies. I have been out of the country for a couple of years, and have not seen this site since 1999... well done! I am glad to see people still appreciate such a talented artist's work. Liam Cunningham will be dear to my heart forever. :) So, I think I'll finally update Shannon's Theatre. I still however, would like to know if anyone has Liam's agency, or theatre address to send fan notes to. I still have mine from age 16 on. Maybe I'll update those too.
God Bless all you Liamites.

I dont know about anyone else but I am getting heartily sick of all the recent publicity regarding Irish actor Colin Farrell. As all Liam fans will know he played Daniel Mccarthy in Falling for a dancer. As far as I am concerned Liam is a far superior actor with more sex appeal and screen presence in his little finger than Colin Farrell has in the whole of his body.

I am writing again because I just saw Shooting The Past. It definitley can't compare to Falling For A Dancer. I guess I just like Liam's rugged good looks and his wonderful Irish accent. I was surprised at the movie I just saw that there wasn't a trace of an accent. He was definitly very handsome but he wasn't in a lot of scenes. I am going to buy Falling For A Dancer because I don't think that the library will let me renew it again. About five times now. I just can't stop watching the last volume of the movie. There has never been a movie that has affected me like this. I daydream all day long about the scenes in this movie.
Keep making the Irish movies Liam. You are wonderful.

I was lucky enough to stumble into my cable's BBC channel and watch "Best Boys" in Cracker. Liam is absolutely sexy and very talented. After seeing the 2 episodes, I vowed to borrow all his movies. John Simm is cute too but Liam is cute, rugged and sexy!

DOG SOLDIERS RULES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
the character Ryan in the movie was played well by Mr Cunningham i`d never trust him (i`m talking about the character Ryan).
my favourite horror movie ever Dog Soldiers is the best british movie of all time it`s that good that hollywood will never better it ever :).
Emma Cleasby & Liam Cunningham & Sean Pertwee & the guy who played the part of the character ``Spoon`` were great in the movie.
can anyone guess where this part was in the movie ``Spoonie Stop F*cking About F*cking Shift it That`s An Order``.
a little clue it`s not in the first half of the movie.
nice site you have here well done.
i bought Dog Soldiers on DVD EX-RENTAL it`ll do untill the sellthrough version comes out with the commentary on it.

Hello everyone!
I actually write an essay on Ireland and Irish films. I've seen "The War of the Buttons" when I was young and I confess that this movie is still one of my favourite!
Unfortunately, the web seems not very rich about this film and I hope someone will give me some informations about it and the actors. I sign this guestbook with emotion and nostalgia reminding me the nice moments I've had with The War of the Buttons. Congratulations Mr Cunningham! You're a great actor (Falling for a dancer..!). Thank you.
You could contact me! I always answer!

Sylvia Schneck - HAWAII / USA
Two months ago, was flipping through the channels and happened into the scene where Elizabeth has just arrived to her new home after her marriage to Neely. I am a 3-second clicker so obviously the first scene greatly impacted me. I watched, entranced until Neely was shot and to my HORROR! I discovered, too late, that I was watching PART I OF II!!! Part II was not played that same day and I could not track it. I was very upset....
Forgot about the movie until three months ago when I got motivated and called the local tv station who referred me to WE TELEVISION in New York. I begged them to put me in touch with the BBC so that I could get a copy of the movie. The representative was not able to help me get a copy of the movie but said that I was in luck and the movie was being replayed on a Sunday (two Sundays ago!) and that Parts I & II were playing back to back. I prepared for that Sunday by making sure I had brand new tapes and popcorn. Yes, I copied it (sorry, I plan to purchase the videotape) and since then, I believe at last count, I have watched the movie at least one dozen times, this is a conservative number.
Deidre Purchell, thank you for writing such a wonderful story, thanks to the director (Standeven?) for an extraordinary job of directing such a wonderful cast. I am in love with Ireland and it's people.
Liam Cunningham...those eyes and the way they conveyed energy and emotion..and Elizabeth Dermot-Walsh, what a beautiful actress, I can't believe this was one of her first ventures into acting. I cried mightily during the scene when she was washing Mary after she died.
The way the family lived, their ties to the church and their community, Tilly the family friend. I know them all. Mary's death, Kitty's pregnancy, Francie's time in the hospital, Elizabeth's father's dilemma over supporting his wife but wanting to help his daughter..
Unlike American films and acting, I found the understated acting to be strongly profound and impactful (Elizabeth touching Kitty's hair upon discovering her pregnancy, instead of being over emotional and huggy / kissy, the power in her words and gentle touches to Kitty were incredible).
Can you tell how hooked I am on the movie and how profoundly touched I was by it? I can't count the number of people that I have talked to about the movie, now everyone wants to see it.
The only drawback...here in Hawaii, I had a hard time understanding some of the conversations because of the Irish dialect, it did not translate clearly. But after having watched the movie one dozen plus times, I am pleased to say I haven't missed much.
Let me end this now before I drone on too much longer.
Aloha from Hawaii and thanks for a wonderful experience with FALLING FOR A DANCER.

To Liam:
I have just watched Falling for an Actor for the second time. I found it absolutely captivating. Liam, you are the image of my late father when he was in his younger years, right down to your mannerisms. (My dad, Peter Mulligan was from Swinford in Mayo) I must thank you sincerely for such a wonderful work in "Falling". Elizabeth Dermott-Walsh shockingly resembles my daughter. I was rivoted to the entire beautiful story because of you two wonderful Irish actors. (as well as the other cast and the filmography) Thank you, thank you!

This week I saw you in "Falling for a Dancer." I was captured by your mesmerizing eyes. You are truly, as we say down in the south "A Hunk of Burning Love." I enjoyed the movie very much and your performance as "Mossie" was enthralling. I will be going to the video store later this week to try and locate your movies "Stranded" and "A Love Divided." The scenery in Dancer was breathtaking. I am of Irish/Scottish heritage myself and would love to visit there some day. I hope Mr. Cunningham keeps following his instincts and avoids the Hollywood "glam and gloss" game. He and the other Irish/English/Scots/Welsh actors who haven't given in to all that nonsense are making the wise choices. In Ireland and the rest of the U.K. good films are the norm. I've only done bit parts over here, and have seen firsthand how fake most of it all is. maybe i should move to Ireland and give it a go? Hmmmmmm? Excellent actor. Long may he last.

"The Abduction Club" with Liam as a convincing villain, is just finishing it's first run in Irish cinemas.Perhaps it could have been supported better, but promotion is an expensive business.
Nevertheless, the film is a rollicking, romantic adventure story
and well worth looking at. Of course, the ending is a lot different from whay really happened. I recommened this film
whole-heartedly, and any chance of seeing should it should be considered urgently.

Great, comprehensive website. Liam's sustained, taut performace in FALLING FOR A DANCER is brilliant. He proves the point that often what goes unspoken and instead is conveyed with nuance and sheer presence is often far more powerful than the spoken word.

Hi--I was in London 2 weeks ago for a wedding when I went to see "The Cavalcaders" at the Tricycle Theatre and was surprised to run into 2 other American women in the restroom (I was the tall blondish one who sat in the front row). One of them told me about this site when I mentioned I had been very impressed by Mr. Cunningham in "Best Boys" but didn't recognize any of his other credits. So here I am checking it out. Very nice site, nice unfussy graphics and easy for a computer semiliterate to get around. Hi to Joan(?); I hope you and your friend had comfortable, uneventful trips back to the States, and hi also to Liam. I hope to see you soon, metamorphasing into a werewolf, and fighting the forces of darkness alongside Terence Stamp, though please feel free to do plenty of high profile productions that we Americans can see at a theater near us. Also, may I compliment you on that beautiful Armani shearling jacket!

Now that I have been lucky enough to see Liam perform on stage in the Cavalcaders, I just HAVE to say on here how wonderful an actor he is. As brilliant as he is on TV, nothing compares to having this man just inches from you performing his heart out.
Lyn and I met for the first time to go to the show together and thanks must be said to Tami for this outstanding site, where Lyn and I 'met' and are now very close friends.
Liam was VERY kind and chatted to us after the show, he really didn't seem to mind answering questions that he must have been asked a thousand times before.
I would just like to say thank you to Liam for spending that precious time with us, because Tuesday 15th January 2002 was one of the most amazing nights of my life. I hope one day, to be able to see you perform on stage again.

I've always thought that Liam had great screen presence
and charisma, which he proved in Falling For A Dancer and
A Likeness In Stone, but I've only just seen A Love Divided,
which I taped when the film was originally broadcast on BBC

as Shelagh, and the story took the viewer through a maelstrom
of emotions. Liam deserves more recognition, but at least he's
got this brilliantly crafted tribute website. Well done!

This is my first time at this website. I grew up watching "A Little Princess" on TV all the time. I had the movie and watched it once or twice as well. Well, after having not seen it for years, I was staying in tonight and my dad wanted to watch a movie. I was going through DVDs he's bought recently and found that he had just gotten "A Little Princess", but wanted me to find it on my own, so we put it on. As I had said, I had not seen it in I don't know how long, and I didn't remember it too well. However, I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Cunningham's performance and wondered why I hadn't recognized him or seen him in anything else. He seemed to me like a stage actor, he had that kind of demanding presence so I looked him up and I am glad to have found this wonderful site! Now I've learned all I wanted to know about his stage and screen career! Thanks so much! (I will be posting this message on the bulletin board as well!)

I just saw last night A little Princess and it just struck me how nice of a man he seemed to be. Of course i mean i am only going on the role he played but just by his looks, he seemed like a very interesting person to meet and talk to. You know the kind, the kind that you would want to be stuck sitting next to on a bus or something of that sort.

Hi, I just want to say thank you for this wonderful site. I've just watched "A Little Princess" and tried to know about him more. Then I remembered -- Ah, he was one of the Knights of the Round Table! I remember him and he was very impressive. I could get less info here in Japan but this site would help me a lot. According to the messages of this guestbook, more than several people love "Falling for a Dancer." I don't know I could get it, but I'll try. Thank you, everyone.

Hullo, Tami,
Only wanted to say - a grand site, and a brilliant intro! Very informative also. My favourite Liam Cunningham performance would have to be in 'Best Boys'. Have only seen last ten minutes of final episode of 'Falling For A Dancer' - I could bang my head against a wall for missing it! (Thank God for Amazon UK :-)). Have realised minutes ago that I missed 'A Little Princess', too... :-/ Darn!

My wife attended acting school with Liam (The Oscar) and I was fortunate to see him perform in their production of Under MilkWood. I remember at the time remarking to my wife (she was my girlfriend then) that he had a real presence on stage and that I thought he'd go far -- it just goes to show that real talent is always obvious.

I was channel surfing, when I came across "Falling For a Dancer" on Romance Classics, and it blew me away! Mr. Cunningham has great talent (and he pretty much has to -- the character of Mossie Sheehan is so inarticulate!). So, I did a web search to find out more about the film, and I'm glad that this is the first place I landed. You have a wonderful layout, and this has been an excellent source of information about the book, etc. I'll be on the lookout now for other films in which Mr. Cunningham appears.

I happened to catch this movie as a 3 part series on Romance Classics one night...well early AM and loved it. Since I was going to go to Ireland I watched all things Irish that I could see. And fell in love with this movie...I will tape it in full next time it's on, they show it a number of times on Romance Clasics...Now that I know the name of the book and the sequel I will go get them and read them. Oh by the way....the trip to Ireland was wonderful, and am hoping to go back this coming summer. The country and people are the greatest in the world. I wish everyone could visit there...it's maqical.

Hello , I was one of the two people you lost while updating your website. I visit your website regularly because I think it is so beautifully made. I really love the lay-out. Liam is an excellent actor and I'm glad he gave up being an electrician to become an actor, because he is a natural talent. A few weeks ago I saw "Falling for a dancer "for the second time and I enjoyed watching it even more than the first time. I'm a fan of Irish films in general, but Liam is , without doubt, the best. I wish you all the best and keep me posted.

I THINK LIAM IS ONE OF THE MANY GREAT UNDERUSED ACTORS TODAY. WHEN YOU THINK OF THE SO CALLED HOLLYWOOD STARS AND THE PARTS THEY ARE GIVING ITS A SHAME. I THINK LIAM IS UP THERE WITH THE LIKES OF LIAM NEESON AND GAY BURN. HAVING FOLLOWED LIAMS CLIMB UP THE LADDER OF SUCESS (I SEEN HIM AS A BIT PLAYER IN THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW) ONLY TO SEE IT STALL
I THINK ITS A GREAT WASTE OF TALENT AND THE HOLLYWOOD CROWD
SHOULD WAKE UP TO THAT FACT. DON'T GET ME WRONG I THINK THE WORK HE IS DOING ON TV AND THE STAGE IS FANTASTIC. I JUST FEEL THAT HIS TALENT WAS MADE FOR THE BIG SCREEN
